In February of 2006, a small group of Living Historians from across the country were invited by the National Park Service to portray the 30th Tennessee in garrison at Ft. Donelson. The event was organized by our close friends in the Independent Rifles. In spite of temperatures hovering around 15 degrees, nearly 70 men participated in three day interpretive program. In return for persevering through the cold, we were treated to a first-rate event with some wonderful first person experiences and scenarios.
