Athens

In August of 2005, the Pumpkin Patch had the opportunity to re-create an early war event in the west.  The battle of Athens, Missouri was fought between the northern allied Missouri Home Guard and the pro-Southern Missouri State Guard.  Neither side had been issued military equipment, uniforms, or weapons by this time (August 1861).  The impressions you see in the photos below exhibit the wide variety of citizens clothing and civilian & antiquated military arms we used to portray these early, ill equipped soldiers.
